Regulations and Compliance
29 CFR 1910.120(j)(1)(vii) - Under an OSHA requirement, "DOT specified salvage drums or containers and suitable quantities of proper absorbents shall be kept available and used in areas where spills, leaks, or ruptures may occur."
29 CFR 1910.1450(e)(3)(ii) - When hazardous chemicals are used in laboratories, a chemical hygiene plan must be established. Employers must, "determine and implement control measures to reduce employee exposure to hazardous chemicals."
40 CFR 112.7 - SPCC planning requirements state that facilities subject to these regulations must have written plans in place discussing the products, countermeasures and procedures that are in place, or will be taken by the facility to prevent discharge of oil into waters of the United States.
