It made sense when you said that alternate routes need to be put in place if the specified exit routes need to be closed for any period of time. My brother is looking into having fire-rated doors installed in the building he just purchased for his new sit-down restaurant. Since he plans on doing renovations after opening in the future, the info you shared here should be helpful to him!

Thanks for pointing out that closing exits should also be accompanied by making sure that they are not lit. I’m considering to get photoluminescent exit signs in preparation for a warehouse that I will be getting constructed in my hobby farm. Having a systematic way of entering and exiting the area will be a good protocol for safety.
