I totally agree with this post. Mostly, cleaning products that we use really matter. Can you suggest any reliable product that is very good in cleaning granite tiles?

Granite floors are one of the hardest walking surfaces available, which means that – with the proper care – they can be very long-lasting. Like most surfaces, granite should be cleaned daily to keep it looking great.
Most floor care professionals recommend the following:
      • Dry-mop the floor to remove dust, dirt and particulate that can scratch the floor.
      • Use clean, warm water and a pH neutral cleaner that is specifically designed for granite floors.
      • Use a rayon or microfiber mop head to help avoid streaks.
      • Change mop water frequently to avoid spreading abrasive dirt.
      • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, bleach, powdered cleansers, highly acidic or alkaline solutions.

We recently did some remodeling and our tile floor is slippery in specific areas (no problems before). Suspect it is sawdust residue. Will mopping with warm, clean water correct this problem?

Because you mentioned remodeling, sawdust on the surface would be among my first suspicions as well. Before mopping, either vacuum the floor or put an old rag over a broom, mist it lightly with water, and sweep the floor to remove as much of the dust as possible. Alternatively, you can mist the floor and wipe it with rags. If you don’t remove the dust first, mopping will just move the sawdust around, and it will end up in areas such as grout lines.

I’m glad that you talked about how the proper use of floor cleaner can help in avoiding replacing floors early. At home, I always make sure that I store my cleaning materials out of reach from children and other chemicals in order to avoid accidents. Thank you for your advice on how to properly maintain the floors.
