Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing some research on that.
And he actually bought me lunch since I found it for him smile So let me rephrase
    that: Thanks for lunch!

We use epoxy and urethane coatings, and a gun wash with aromatics and ketones.

The latching funnel uses a nitrile gasket, which is not compatible with ketones. It will swell, making it impossible to screw the funnel into the bung threads.

The latch hook is poorly welded. We have had two fail.

      Hi John,

I’m sorry that the Latching Funnel didn’t work for you, particularly if you found the welds inadequate. New Pig’s No Guff Guarantee means that we’ll refund 100% of our products 100% of the time. If you’re not happy for any reason, we’ll refund every penny of your order, including taxes and shipping from your location. To arrange that, just call toll-free 1-855-493-4647, Monday through Friday, 7 AM – 8 PM ET.

As for the gasket, it’s true that nitrile is not compatible with many solvents, including ketones. We have recently redesigned some of our funnels and our DRM1112 now includes a polyethylene foam gasket that withstands solvents much better than the former nitrile gasket. Our customer service department would be happy to arrange an exchange for you. Thank you for contacting us. Please follow up if you need further help.
